Associate Professor and Academic Director of the International School of Economics, at Tbilisi State University. Adj. Associate Professor of International Affairs at Columbia University.
Professor Asali holds a Ph.D. in economics from Columbia University; an MA in economics, and a BA in economics and accounting from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
He held teaching positions at Columbia University and New York University, and was a visiting assistant professor at Union College. His teaching and research interests include applied microeconomics, labor economics, econometrics, and time series econometrics.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in August 2014.
