Ulf Rinne is Research Fellow at IZA. He works at the intersection of academic research, policy advice, and scientific management. In addition to conducting his own research, he has contributed to numerous projects on behalf of renowned national and international institutions and has held management responsibilities as part of IZA’s executive staff.

Ulf Rinne joined IZA in 2005. He studied economics in Bonn and Lisbon, and he received his doctorate from the Freie Universität Berlin in 2009.

His research interests span several areas of empirical labor economics and applied microeconometrics. He focuses in particular on the evaluation of labor policies (such as training programs for the unemployed or integration measures for refugees), migration policy (for example, in the context of immigration law), instruments to reduce discrimination (such as anonymous job applications), and the labor-market impacts of technological change and digitalization (such as new forms of employment and the gig economy).

Most of his papers can also be accessed on RePEc, EconPapers, and Google Scholar.
