Mathias Huebener is a Research Associate at the Department of Education and Family at DIW Berlin. His major research interests are in the fields of economics of education, family and health economics, policy evaluations and intergenerational transmissions.

Mathias completed his PhD in Economics in 2018 at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany, in cooperation with DIW Berlin's Graduate Center. Previously, he studied Economics at the University of Essex, and earned his Master's degree in Economic Policy at University College London.

Mathias' current research focuses on the role of public policies in the formation of human capital, including individuals' education, health and labor market outcomes.

He became a Reseach Affiliate in July 2018.
