Oded Galor is Herbert H. Goldberger Professor of Economics at Brown University and a Fellow of the Department of Economics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

He is the founder of Unified Growth Theory and has made seminal contributions to the understanding of the relationship between inequality and growth, human evolution and the process of development, and demography and growth.

Oded Galor is a co-Director of the NBER research group on Income Distribution and Macroeconomics, a Research Fellow of the CEPR, and a Research Associate of the NBER. He is the Editor in Chief of the Journal of Economic Growth, a member of the editorial board of Economics and Human Biology, and the Journal of Economic Inequality, an associate editor of the Journal of Population Economics and Macroeconomic Dynamics.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in January 2012.
