Ekrame Boubtane is Associate Professor of Economics at University Clermont Auvergne,CERDI and Affiliate Researcher at Paris School of Economics.

She has obtained a MSc in Statistics and Quantitative Economics in 2006 from ENSAE Paris and a PhD in Economics in 2010 from University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

Her research interests are in applied macroeconomic, labor economics and development economics. Her work focuses on the economic implications of international migration in the OECD countries.


She has recently published in Science Advances, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, European Economic Review, Oxford Economic Paper, International Regional Science Review, Annals of Economics and Statistics, Economic Modelling, Labour: Review of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations and Population.

She joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in July 2016 and became IZA Research Fellow in November 2021.
