Jakub Lonsky

Jakub Lonsky received his B.A. from Berea College and M.A. from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Pittsburgh in August 2019 and is currently on the economics job market.

His main research interests lie at the intersection of labor economics, political economy, and health economics, with a particular emphasis on international migration and transnational organized crime. His job market paper studies the origins and consequences of the Russian Mafia.

Jakub Lonsky joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in November 2019.
