Jakub Lonsky is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Economics at the University of Liverpool Management School. Jakub received his B.A. from Berea College and M.A. from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Pittsburgh in August 2019, and was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oxford's Centre on Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS) from November 2019 until August 2020.

His main research interests lie at the intersection of labor economics, political economy, and health economics, with a particular emphasis on international migration and transnational organized crime.

Jakub Lonsky joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in November 2019.
