About Us
The IZA Network at LISER (IZA@LISER) is a global community of scholars dedicated to excellence in labor economics, now coordinated at the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) following its transition from Bonn.
Mission and Vision
IZA@LISER is a global community of scholars dedicated to excellence in labor economics and related fields. Now coordinated by the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER), the Network leverages the collective expertise of its worldwide membership to provide rigorous, evidence-based insights that inform and shape effective policymaking.
Strategically positioned at the heart of Europe, IZA@LISER serves as a vital bridge between academic research and practical policy application. It provides dynamic platforms for knowledge exchange, ensuring that cutting-edge, impartial research findings are accessible and actionable for policy practitioners and the general public globally.
From its new institutional home in Luxembourg, IZA@LISER carries forward and amplifies this founding vision of the Network within a modern, global framework. Today, it stands as the leading international community in labor economics, comprising more than 2,000 scholars from over 60 countries, and continues to host the global knowledge platform World of Labour.
Organisation
Management team
This team coordinates our core activities to ensure the IZA@LISER Network remains the leading hub for labor economics. We oversee the publication pipeline, organize international events, and manage our membership of top-tier scholars. By facilitating face-to-face collaboration through our visiting program, we help turn individual research into collective impact.
Awards
While the IZA Prize in Labor Economics, the IZA Young Labor Economist Award, and the IRECC Award were given to outstanding scholars in the field, our newly established IRPPI Award provides incentives for doing excellent economic research on pressing public issues.
History
Established in 1998, IZA has become a leading center in national and international labor market research and policy advice.
