Johannes Koettl is a Senior Economist at the World Bank's Social Protection and Labor Global Practice. He has been working on issues related to labor markets, migration, health, and social protection at the World Bank since 2004. Previously he completed an M.A. in International Relations at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies and a Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Vienna and the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS) Vienna. His current work focuses - among other topics - on aging, jobs in the Western Balkan, informal employment, and the social protection for international migrants.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in May 2011.
