Matteo Picchio (1979) received his BA, Msc, and Ph.D. in Economics from Marche Polytechnic University (Ancona, Italy) in 2003, 2004, and 2007, respectively. At the Université catholique de Louvain, he obtained a Master of Arts (2005) and a Ph.D. in Economics (2009).

He is Full Professor in Economics at Marche Polytechnic University.

His research interests include labour economics, economics of education, health economics, economics of ageing and microeconometrics.

He is Associate Editor of Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization since June 2015.

He joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in February 2010 and became an IZA Research Fellow in January 2013.
