Emilia Del Bono is a Senior Research Fellow at ISER, the Institute for Social & Economic Research, University of Essex. Before that she was a Research Fellow and a Senior Research Officer at the same institute. From 2004-2005 Emilia was a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Labor Economics at UC Berkeley, and from 2002-2004 a Junior Research Fellow in Economics, The Queen’s College, University of Oxford.

After completing her first degree in Economics and Banking at Siena University in January 1997, she worked as a Research Officer for the European Network of Experts in "Gender and Employment", Equal Opportunities Unit, European Commission. Between 1997 and 1999 she took her M.Phil. Degree in Economics at Oxford University and in 1999 she extended her research into a Ph.D. Degree.

Emilia’s research interests include the economics of the family and labour economics, in particular: fertility and family formation; early childhood outcomes; gender wage gap; schooling; and compensating wage differentials.

She joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in December 2001 and became a Research Fellow in July 2005.
