Ana Nuevo-Chiquero

Ana Nuevo-Chiquero holds BAs in Economics and Law from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. She obtained her PhD from Boston University in 2011 and is now a Maria Zambrano Fellow at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in the School of Economics at the University of Edinburgh (on leave).

Her research interests lays on Labour and Health Economics, with a focus on fertility choices and early life investments. She uses applied micro econometric techniques to study issues such as behavioural responses to contraception availability, parental investments during early life and its long term consequences.

Ana joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in May 2016 and became an IZA Fellow in November 2021.
