I am a Senior Economist at the OECD Directorate for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs, leading several initiatives on the inclusion of LGBTIQ+ individuals and visible minorities. Prior to assuming this role, I have contributed to the OECD’s work on gender equality and youth employment, as well as to the OECD’s support to developing countries. I was also responsible for organizing in 2018 the International Diversity Forum, an OECD conference focused on inclusive policies for marginalized groups. In 2022, I received the “LGBT+ Role Model Ally – Leader” award by L’Autre Cercle, the French leading NGO advocating for LGBTIQ+ inclusive workplaces.
My academic background includes a doctorate from the École Polytechnique and an “Habilitation to Supervise Research” (HDR) from Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne University, a qualification in France that demonstrates capacity to lead high-level scientific projects. Additionally, I hold three Master’s degrees: a Master “Analysis and Policy in Economics” (APE) from the Paris School of Economics, a Master of Science in Management (Grande École) from HEC Paris and, following my studies at the University of Cologne (Germany), a CEMS Master in International Management. I further obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Sorbonne University.
Prior to joining the OECD in 2016, I dedicated eight years to research and teaching at both Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne University and the Paris School of Economics. My research primarily revolves around labour market discriminations and development economics and has been featured in peer-reviewed journals like the Economic Journal, PNAS, World Bank Economic Review, and World Development. The key findings of my research on anti-Muslim discrimination in Christian-heritage countries, in collaboration with Claire L. Adida and David D. Laitin, were published in the book Why Muslim Integration Fails in Christian-Heritage Societies by Harvard University Press in 2016. In 2018, together with Stéphane Carcillo, we published with Sciences Po Press the book Les discriminations au travail which addresses a broad spectrum of discrimination grounds in the labour market. The book received the 2019 Turgot Prize-Honourable Mention, as well as the 2020 Prize for the Best Book on the World of Labour (“Experts” category) by Le Toit Citoyen.
In May 2025, we released with MIT Press a more comprehensive book on labour market discrimination entitled Invisible Barriers. Understanding and Overcoming Discrimination in the Workplace.
I joined IZA as a Research Fellow in March 2018.
