Shirlee Lichtman-Sadot

Shirlee Lichtman-Sadot is currently an assistant professor of economics at Ben-Gurion University. She received her Ph.D. in economics from Stanford University in 2013.
Shirlee’s research in labor, education, health and family economics reflects her interests in the determinants of economic and social disparities. Her papers have covered topics such as parental leave mandates and access to the job market, higher education institutions and health facilities via public transportation infrastructure. In addition, Shirlee’s papers have covered evaluations of school food environments, student incentive schemes and, more recently, the evaluation of pension policy reforms and their effect on spousal labor force participation decisions as well as marriage dynamics.

Shirlee joined IZA as a Research Fellow in October 2019.
