Shuai Chen is an Assistant Professor in Economics in the Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting at the University of Leicester School of Business, U.K. He is also a Research Affiliate of the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA), Fellow of the Global Labor Organization (GLO), and Research Affiliate of the Erasmus School of Economics (ESE) Rotterdam. Shuai was a Researcher in Economics at the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) in 2019-2023, and Visiting Associate of the Centre for Economic Performance (CEP) at the LSE in Spring 2018.

Shuai is an applied economist with research interests in labor economics, political economy, and behavioral economics. Before completing his PhD in Economics at Tilburg University, Netherlands, Shuai had obtained his Bachelor Degree in Economic Statistics from Xiamen University, China and Master Degree in Mathematical Statistics and Probability from Purdue University, USA.

Shuai Chen joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in September 2022.
