Jos van Ommeren

Jos van Ommeren is associate professor of economics at the Free University of Amsterdam and Research Fellow of the Tinbergen Institute. He obtained his Masters from the London School of Economics and has Ph.D. from the Free University of Amsterdam. His previous affiliations include the European University Institute in Florence, Italy, University College London, Cranfield School of Management, United Kingdom and a visiting position at the Frisch centre, University of Oslo, Norway Department of Economics. Among other things, Jos van Ommeren has published in the Journal of Urban Economics, Regional Science and Urban Economics, Journal of Regional Science and Economica. His current research interests include fringe benefits, commuting, job search, spatial economics, housing economics and transport economics.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in April 2009.
