Andrew Barr is the Al Chalk Professor of Economics at Texas A&M. He is an applied microeconomist. His work focuses on understanding the financial and non-financial factors that influence the well-being of individuals, particularly those who face barriers to success. His research appears in leading journals (e.g., American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, and the Journal of Political Economy) and has informed policy conversations and major media; it is cited in the United States Economic Report of the President and has attracted roughly $2 million in external support.
