Juliane Hennecke is a Postdoc at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (OvGU) in Germany as well as a Research Affiliate at New Zealand Work Research Institute (NZWRI). She is an applied microeconomist and behavioural economist and her main research areas are Labour and Population Economics as well as Economic Psychology.

She joined OvGU in October 2021 after spending two years as a Research Fellow at NZWRI in New Zealand. She completed her PhD in Economics at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany, in July 2019 within the Berlin Doctoral Program in Economics and Management Science (BDPEMS). Previously, she completed degrees in International Economics from University of Potsdam (Master) and in Economics and Political Science from Georg-August Universität Göttingen (Bachelor).

She is currently working on multiple topics family and intrahousehold economics, crime victimization as well as the behavioural implications of personality traits.
