Dr. G Reza Arabsheibani teaches in the Department of Management in London School of Economics and is a Visiting Professor in Beijing Foreign Studies University. He has served as a consultant in LSE Enterprise, ia an associate of WELMERC and also serves on the Welsh advisory panel of the British Household Panel Study. Previously he was a Reader in economics at Swansea University, Before Swansea he taught at Keele, Exeter, Bristol, Royal Holloway and Aberystwyth universities. He received his BA from Nottingham Trent, his MSc from Queen Mary College, University of London, and his PhD from the London School of Economics. His research interests are labour economics (especially compensating differentials and the risk of death and injury, skill-biased technology, discrimination, unions, returns to education, discrimination, screening), development economics (forign aid, export instability, the informal sector, etc) and optimism, entrepreneurship and self-employment. His publications have appeared, among other journals, in the European Economic Review, Economic Modelling, Journal of Risk and Uncertainty, Economica, Economic Development and Cultural Change, Journal of Development Studies, Economics Letters, the Scottish Journal of Political Economy, Economics of Transition, Economics of Education Review and Labour as well as a number of papers in IZA journals.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in November 2006.
