Noemi Peter is an Associate Professor working at the University of Groningen. Since 2023 she serves as an Associate Editor at the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization. She received her PhD in economics from the University of Amsterdam in 2016.
Her research interests lie in experimental and behavioral economics, the economics of education, and gender and family economics. She is particularly interested in how individuals’ choices are shaped by non-monetary factors such as stereotypes, beliefs, information preferences and attitudes to competition. Her work spans experimental and quasi-experimental methods and draws on a variety of data sources, including administrative data.
She joined IZA as a Research Fellow in 2026.
