Research Fellow

Toulouse School of Economics

Matteo Bobba is an assistant professor (Junior Chair) at the Toulouse School of Economics. He received his PhD in Economics from the Paris School of Economics in 2011. In the same year, he joined the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Washington DC and worked as a research economist until August 2015.

He is an applied micro-economist with research interests at the intersection between development and labor economics. Recent and on-going projects study the role of market frictions in developing countries (e.g. credit market imperfections, informal labor markets, limited access to information) on occupational choices and schooling decisions.

He joined IZA as a research affiliate in November 2016 and became IZA Fellow in November 2021.
