Jan Marcus is professor for Applied Statistics at Free University in Berlin.

He examines empirical questions in the areas of health and education economics, with a particular focus on the evaluation of public policies. His research has been published in international peer-reviewed journals like American Economic Journal - Economics Policy, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Health Economics, and Journal of Human Resources. In 2018, Jan was awarded with the German Economics Prize.

Jan Marcus joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in October 2021.
