Tianyi Wang is an assistant professor in economics at the University of Toronto. He is an applied microeconomist working primarily at the intersection of political economy and economic history. His current research focuses on examining the political impacts of media and information technologies. He also has a research agenda studying how technologies affect health and labor market outcomes.
Tianyi received his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh in 2020 and his B.A. from Colgate University in 2015. Before coming to Toronto, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Economic Behavior and Inequality (CEBI) of the University of Copenhagen and at Princeton University's Industrial Relations Section. Tianyi joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in September 2020.
