Björn Brügemann

Björn Brügemann is Associate Professor of Economics at VU University Amsterdam. He graduated from the University of Bonn as Diplom-Volkswirt in 1999 and completed his Ph.D. in Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2004. His research interests lie in the macroeconomics of labor markets and the political economy of labor market institutions. In recent work he has studied the link between wage determination and labor market volatility, the private efficiency of separation decisions, and the system of employer-provided health insurance in the US.

He joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in October 2004 and became a Research Fellow in February 2007.
