Matloob Piracha got his PhD in Economics at the University of Exeter. Currently he is based at the School of Economics, University of Kent, UK.

His main research area is labour economics, particularly migration. His work has been published, among other journals, in Journal of Development Studies, Journal of Labor Economics, Journal of Population Economics and World Development. He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in 2004.
