John Micklewright is Professor Emeritus of Economics and Social Statistics in the UCL Social Research Institute, University College London. His previous posts include Professor of Social Statistics at the University of Southampton, Head of Research at UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre, Florence, Professor of Economics at Queen Mary, University of London, and Professor of Economics at the European University Institute, Florence.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in December 2002.
