Frederik Caselitz completed his training as foreign language correspondent (for English, French and Spanish) in Hamburg in 2005. He has been a student of political science, public law and economics at the University of Bonn since 2005. He was a student assistant at IZA from April 2008 until July 2009 and again from April until October 2010. His main tasks included translating and editing texts for various publications.
