Olga Nottmeyer received her PhD in Economics from Free University Berlin in 2011. Prior to this, she was a doctoral student at the Graduate Center of Economic and Social Research at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a Diplom in Economics, both from Free University Berlin.

Her primary research interests include applied microeconometrics, the economics of migration, and labor economics. In her doctoral dissertation, she examined interethnic marriages and their labor market implications for immigrants in Germany.

She became a Research Affiliate of the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA) in February 2009 and was appointed Research Associate in November 2011. Since then, she has contributed to the development of the online compendium IZA World of Labor and has served as its Managing Editor since 2016. In 2025, she was also appointed Head of Publications at the Institute of Labor Economics.

Since January 2026, she is supporting the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER), continuing in her role as Managing Editor of World of Labour.
