Andrea Albanese is currently a researcher in the Labour Market Department of LISER.

He graduated from a joint PhD programme at DEFAP Graduate School of Milan (Italy) and Ghent University (Belgium) in December 2015. His research interests are Labour Economics and Applied Microeconometrics with a focus on Causal Analysis and Treatment Estimation. He published in Labour Economics, Economics Letters and Empirical Economics (forthcoming). In 2017 he won a CORE-Junior research grant as principal investigator funded by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR). During his studies he has won research fellowships and scholarships from the Italian National Institute for Social Security, the Flemish Government Research Funds (BOF) and Fondazione Cariplo. In 2016, his PhD thesis was awarded the AISSEC prize for the academic years 2014-2016.

He joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in May 2018.
