Vincenzo Scoppa is currently full professor of Economics at the Department of Economics, Statistics and Finance, University of Calabria (Italy). He has previously served as a senior economist at the Italian Prime Minister’s Office (Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri), Rome. Since 2000 he has been assistant professor and then associate professor at the University of Calabria. He received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Siena and a Master in Economics from University of Turin.
He has published, among others, in the Journal of Labor Economics, Journal of Public Economics, Economic Journal, European Economic Review, Economic Inquiry, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, Labour Economics, Economic Policy, Journal of Economic Psychology, Journal of Population Economics, Economica, Public Choice, Economics of Education Review, Journal of Human Capital. He has also published three textbooks on Behavioral Economics; Economics of Contracts; Personnel Economics.
His main areas of research are in labour economics, education economics, behavioral economics, policy evaluations and economics of sports.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in April 2013.
