John Bennett is Professor of Economics at Brunel University and Director of CEDI, the Centre for Economic Development and Institutions. He worked previously at the University of Wales, Cardiff and Swansea, and he has been a visiting professor at Washington University, St Louis, and Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario. He has published articles in the American Economic Review, Journal of the European Economic Association, European Economic Review, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, and other leading journals. He has been a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Comparative Economics and Economic Systems. His current research focuses on informality in developing and transition economies.
He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in June 2006.
