Russell Weinstein is the Frederick S. Addy Distinguished Chair of Economics and Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Michigan State University. His research focuses on labor economics and factors that facilitate or hinder labor market success for individuals and communities. This research includes studying barriers to high-wage jobs for students based on the college they attend, and the impact of regional universities on their local labor markets.
He received his PhD from Boston University in 2014.
Russell joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in November 2016 and became an IZA Research Fellow in November 2021.
