Serena Canaan
Serena Canaan
Research Fellow

Serena Canaan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Simon Fraser University.

She received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2016. Her research interests include economics of education, labor and family economics. Her work focuses on topics such as the returns to quality of higher education, school tracking, the gender gap in STEM education, and the costs of parental leave programs for households and firms.

Serena Canaan joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in June 2019.
