Adama Konseiga joined the Ministry of Tourism, Government of Quebec, Canada since June 2012. He will be in charge of modelling Tourism demand at the Directorate of Evaluation and strategic planning.

Before joining the current position, he has worked at the Institute for Development in Economics and Administration (IDEA International Institute, Quebec city) from September 2007 to June 2012. He is also a Research Affiliate of the GREDI (Research Group in Economics and International Development) of the University of Sherbrooke, Canada since May 2007. He worked at the department of Economics at the Faculty of Administration as a lecturer.

Adama Konseiga held also a position at APHRC (African Population and Health Research Center) as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow from August 2005 to April 2007. In 2005, he held a short-term research fellow position at the Department of Economic and Management Sciences, University of Pretoria, South Africa.

He has previously worked at the Ministry of Economic Development and Finance as a Project Manager assigned to the European Development Fund Projects for Burkina Faso.

Adama Konseiga received a PhD in Economics in 2004 as a unique collaboration between the University of Bonn in Germany and the University of Auvergne in France. He also holds a Masters degree in Development Economics from the University of Auvergne (at CERDI, Centre d’Etudes et de Recherches sur le Développement International in France) .
His areas of research interest include urban poverty, migration, education, health and economic convergence.

He joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in February 2005 and became a Research Fellow in May 2008.
