Professor Guyonne Kalb is a Professorial Research Fellow and Director of the Labour Economics and Social Policy Program in the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research at the University of Melbourne. She has a Master’s degree in econometrics from Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands (1989), and a PhD degree in econometrics from Monash University, Australia (1998). She has held previous positions at Monash University, the University of New South Wales, and prior to commencing her PhD at a social insurance administration office (which was then called GAK) in the Netherlands.

Her research interests are mainly in the field of micro-econom(etr)ics and include labour supply issues; the interaction of labour supply, social security and taxation; labour supply and childcare; and microsimulation modelling.

Her work includes more than 50 refereed publications in national and international journals, such as for example Journal of Human Resources, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, Journal of Health Economics, Health Economics, Fiscal Studies and Economic Record, in addition to numerous (government) reports and working papers.

She joined IZA as a Research Fellow in February 2011.
