François Fontaine is professor at the Paris School of Economics (University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne). He received his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Paris 1 (EUREQua, UMR CNRS) and CREST (National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies).
His general research interests are in applied and theoretical labor economics, labor market policy and the micro-foundations of macroeconomics. His current scientific activities share a common methodology: the use of structural models of the labour market to analyse through theoretical modeling and quantify by estimating the models.
He joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in August 2004 and became a Research Fellow in February 2007.
