Emily Weisburst is an Assistant Professor of Public Policy at the Luskin School of Public Affairs at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Her research focuses on topics in labor economics and applied microeconomics, including criminal justice and education. Her research interests include understanding factors that impact police decision-making and public trust in police. In turn, she is interested in how interactions with the criminal justice system affect individuals, families and communities. Professor Weisburst's work has received support from the Russell Sage Foundation, the Carnegie Foundation, the National Academy of Education and the Spencer Foundation, the California Center for Population Research, UCLA and Columbia University. Her work has received media attention from outlets including the Economist, the Washington Post, the New York Times, Reuters, Vox, and the Brookings Institution.
