Ashley Craig is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Michigan. His research centers on the empirical and theoretical study of education and human capital investment, taxation, discrimination and inequality. Within these areas, Ashley is particularly interested in the design of policies to correct problems or promote equity.
Ashley received his PhD from Harvard University in May 2019, and his undergraduate degree is from the University of Sydney. Previously, he worked as an economist at the Reserve Bank of Australia. While at Harvard, he was a James M. and Cathleen D. Stone Ph.D. Scholar in Inequality and Wealth Concentration, and recipient of a Lara Warner Ph.D. fellowship from the Harvard Kennedy School Women and Public Policy Program. In 2020, he received the IIPF Young Economists Award from the International Institute of Public Finance.
