S Anukriti is a Research Economist in the Human Development team of the Development Research Group at the World Bank. She is an applied micro-economist whose research examines the underlying causes of gender inequalities in developing societies, and explores mechanisms that can bring about gender equity. Her research spans the fields of development economics, economics of gender and the family, and political economy. Dr. Anukriti received her PhD in Economics from Columbia University in 2013, MA in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics in 2004, and BA (Honors) in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi in 2002. Prior to joining the World Bank in July 2020, she was an Assistant Professor of Economics at Boston College and a Research Fellow of the Women and Public Policy Program at Harvard University.
She joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in April 2013 and became Research Fellow in November 2021.
