Robert Dur is Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam and a research fellow of the Tinbergen Institute. He held visiting positions at Bocconi Univerisity, the University of Munich, and the University of Vienna. His research interests include personnel economics, organizational economics, and behavioral economics. His work has been published in among others Economic Journal, Journal of Labor Economics, Journal of Public Economics, and Management Science. He is an associate editor of the journals Economics of Governance and De Economist, and a member of the Editorial Board of The Leadership Quarterly and the German Journal of Human Resource Management.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in September 2008.
