Jose Galdo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics and the School of Public Policy and Administration at Carleton University in Ottawa. Dr. Galdo is a Fulbright scholar and holds a doctoral degree in economics from Syracuse University.
His research lies at the intersection of labor economics, development economics, program evaluation, and microeconometrics. His current research projects focus on methodological issues of programme evaluation; the role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in developing countries; and the long-run impacts of civil conflict on individuals' well-being and institutions. Published in peer-reviewed academic journals, he has substantial research and field experience in evaluating active labor market programs in developing countries and has consulted for a range of international and development institutions including the Inter-American Development Bank, United Nations Development Program, and the International Labor Organization.
He joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in February 2006 and became a Research Fellow in March 2009.
