Since September 2019, Katja Görlitz is a professor of economics with a special focus on labor markets at the HdBA in Mannheim. Before, she was an assistant professor of labor market and social policy at the Freie Universität Berlin. In 2010, she received her Ph.D. in Economics from the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. From 2006 to 2012, she worked at the RWI in Essen. Her main research interests cover labor economics, economics of education and applied econometrics. She has published in journals like Labour Economics, Economics of Education Review and Economics & Human Biology.

She joined IZA as a Research Fellow in April 2013.
