Zuzana Brixiova is Senior Researcher at the Technical University of Ostrava. She is also Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Cape Town, the School of Economics and is affiliated with the Southern Africa Labour and Development Research Unit as well as with the Global Labour Organization. She was a Fulbright scholar at the Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia, from September 2007 to March 2008.
Her research interests are labor economics, development economics, entrepreneurship and applied microeconomics. She has published in journals such as African Development Review, Carnegie-Rochester Conference Series on Public Policy, Development Policy Review, Economic Modelling, Economic Systems, Economics Letters, IMF Staff Papers, Journal of African Development, Journal of Globalization and Development, Macroeconomic Dynamics, Review of Development Economics, Small Business Economics, World Development and World Economics. She holds an M.A. (Ing.) in Finance from the University of Economics, Prague, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota.
She joined IZA as a Research Fellow in October 2011.
