Sylvie Blasco is currently a professor in Economics, University of Caen Normandy, (CREM). From 2023 to 2011 she was an assistant professor in Le Mans University and from 2009 to 2011, she was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Economics of Aarhus University, Aarhus School of Business. From 2006 to 2009 she was affiliated to CREST as a PhD student. She received her PhD from the Paris School of Economics in November 2009 for her dissertation "The take-up of the unemployment insurance in France".

Her research interests include Labour Economics, Health Economics and Applied Microeconometrics. In particular, she works on job search behavior and evaluates the impact of labor market policies. She also work on mental health and on the health impact of working conditions.

She joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in November 2010 and became a Research Fellow in July 2014.
