Deniz Gevrek is a tenured Associate Professor of Economics at the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She studied economics at the Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey. After receiving her B.A. degree, she attended the University of Texas at Austin to pursue Ph.D. in economics in 2003. She completed her Ph.D. and M.S. at the University of Texas at Austin in May 2008, and in May 2005.

Her research fields are Applied Microeconometrics, Labor Economics, and Economic Demography. Her main research interests include education, migration, immigrant outcomes, race, and marriage.

She joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in September 2008 and became a Research Fellow in December 2011.
