Daniel Kamhöfer is a Professor of Quantitative Methods in Economics at RPTU University of Kaiserslautern-Landau.

Daniel completed his PhD in Economics at the University of Duisburg-Essen in 2018 and was a postdoctoral researcher at the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf before joining RPTU in 2024. He was also affiliated with or visited the University of Konstanz, Paderborn University, the ifo Institute, the Institute for Fiscal Studies in London, Lund University, the University of Sydney, and Monash University in Melbourne.

In his research, Daniel uses a broad spectrum of quantitative methods (randomized controlled trials, quasi-experiments, machine learning techniques) to understand how cognitive and socio-emotional abilities shape individuals’ economic outcomes and non-material well-being, and how educational policy can influence this process to promote personal development and reduce social inequalities.

Daniel Kamhöfer joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in October 2019 and has been a Research Fellow since 2024.
