Eugenio Peluso is Head of the Living Conditions Department at the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) and an Affiliated Professor of Economics at the University of Luxembourg. He holds a PhD from the University of Cergy-Pontoise in France. Before moving to Luxembourg, he was Professor of Economics at the University of Verona in Italy and also taught at several other universities, including the Catholic University and the University of Milan.

His research focuses on the development of methods and models to better understand inequality, its underlying determinants, and its impact on well-being and political dynamics. His recent work has concentrated on the measurement of multidimensional risk and inequality, as well as on urban inequality and segregation.

His work has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Public Economics, Urban Studies, and the Journal of Economic Theory.

He is currently a member of the EICCA doctoral programme at the University of Luxembourg. In 2006, he founded the Canazei Winter School on Inequality and Welfare Theory, which has since become a well-established international platform for research in this field.

As Head of the Living Conditions Department at LISER, he is committed to maintaining the highest scientific standards while supporting policymakers and advancing methods of policy evaluation. He is also a member of the LISER Management Team and coordinates the work of around 40 researchers from diverse disciplines, backgrounds, and nationalities.
