Research Interests

Roger Wilkins is a Professorial Fellow in the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research at the University of Melbourne. Since 2023, he has been Co-Director of the HILDA Survey, an Australian household panel study that commenced in 2001.


His research interests are the causes and consequences of labour market outcomes, the distribution and dynamics of individuals’ economic wellbeing, and the incidence and determinants of poverty and welfare dependence.

Roger joined IZA as a Research Fellow in July 2016.
