Anna Zhu is a lecturere of economics at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
Anna’s research uses econometric techniques combined with national survey and administrative datasets to investigate issues on child development, the intergenerational transmission of disadvantage, relationship dynamics and employment. Her recent work uses machine learning tools to provide predictions and causal estimations.
She has conducted some of this research under partnerships with government agencies and as a research fellow of the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research and the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence’s Life Course Centre.
Anna joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in May 2016 and became an IZA Research Fellow in November 2021.
