Peng Nie is now Professor in Economics at the Xi'an Jiaotong University in Xi'an, China. He is also Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Health Care & Public Management, University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart (Germany), and Research Fellow at Global Labor Organization (GLO), and IZA. He obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of Hohenheim in August 2015. His research interests focus on issues related to labor economics, health economics and development economics. He has published in the international journals such as Nature, The Lancet, Nature Medicine, Review of Income and Wealth, Energy Economics, Social Science & Medicine, Economics & Human Biology, China Economic Review, Social Indicators Research, Cities. He is a member of International Health Economics Association (Member of the Scientific Committee Review Panel), Health Econometrics and Data Group (HEDG, University of York, UK), The Chinese Economists Society, Youth Committee of China Health Economics Association (Committee Member), and  European China Health Economics and Outcomes Research Association. He is now Co-Editor of Review of Development Economics (Wiley), Associate Editor of The Journal of the Economics of Ageing (Elsevier), and Singpore Economic Review (World Scientific), as well as Editorial Board Member of BMC Public Health (Springer Nature), BMC Geriatrics (Springer Nature) and Labor History (Taylor & Francis Online).

Peng Nie joined IZA as a Research Affiliate in October 2019.
